Jean Bouchard is a truly Burgundian house, owned and run by the Bichot family, one of Burgundy's top negociants since 1831.

The brand offers a comprehensive range of major Burgundy appellations at all levels, from good value Bourgogne Chardonnay and Pinot Noir to Grand Cru wines.

The winery works with vineyards in Chablis, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Pommard and Mercury, comprising a range of appellations representing Burgundy in its entirety

Yields are kept low and each wine offers a true expression of its unique terroir.

Several wines have been selected to bear the sought after Confrerie des Chevaliers du Tastevin coat of arms, a mark of outstanding Burgundy winemaking.

The wines are frequently awarded medals by prestigious competions including Concours des Grands Vins de Macon, Concours General Agricole de Paris, Concours des Burgondia and Gilbert & Gaillard. They are recommended by Guide Hachette.

The wines appeal not only to the broader market but also to serious wine lovers and collectors. More than 1 million bottles of Jean Bouchard are distributed in France.

Today the estate is owned by Domaine Albert-Bichot, a major player in the Burgundy market with over 200 years winemaking experience. Domaine Albert-Bichot is now the No.1 buyer at the world famous Hospices de Beaune auction.

The nose is fresh and elegant with a typical Kimmeridgian nose featuring mineral aromas. The palate starts off with flavours of crisp, fresh fruit. Harmonious structure and a mineral finish.
