Madame Clicquot created the first blended Rosé in 1818 by adding some red wine to Yellow Label champagne. The result was Veuve Clicquot Rosé, a fruity and full-bodied expression of the Veuve Clicquot style.
Made using 50 to 60 different crus, the cuvée is based on Yellow Label's traditional blend, 50 to 55% Pinot Noir, 15 to 20 % Meunier, 28 to 33 % Chardonnay. This blend is then completed with 12% of still red wine using red grapes. The wine is then aged three years in cellars before being released. The blend includes reserve wines originating from several harvests (usually 5 or 6), which ensure the consistency of the House style. These older wines are kept separately to preserve the unique qualities of their vineyard and vintage.
The fresh attack is followed by a fruity harmonious sensation on the palate. The wine is perfected balanced in the best Veuve Clicquot style of pink champagnes, combining elegance and flair. The wine works its magic – this delectably full champagne can be enjoyed as a true delicacy. Full bodied and deliciously fruity, with intense flavors of juicy ripe strawberries and cherries, Veuve Clicquot’s Rosé is a burst of red fruits and the expression of Madame Clicquot’s ingenious and audacious spirit.
