Stuffed Roti John

Cheese, bread, egg - Roti John has it all! Make your own elevated stuffed roti john with this simple recipe.

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 Baguette
  • 120g Ground Beef
  • 80g Yellow Onions (Finely Chopped)
  • 1 Pc Green Chilli (Finely Chopped)
  • 50g Lettuce (Shredded)
  • 2 Eggs (Beaten)
  • 1 Slices Aged Cheddar Cheese
  • 10ml Ketchup
  • 10ml Chilli Sauce
  • 5ml Sambal Chilli
  • 20ml Mayonnaise
  • To Taste Salt & Pepper
  • To Taste Butter
COOKING METHOD
  1. Hollow the inside of the baguette to create a tunnel through
  2. Season mince beef with salt and pepper
  3. Mix chilli sauce, mayonnaise and ketchup together in a bowl and set aside
  4. Over medium heat, melt butter and cook eggs till it is a dry scrambled texture
  5. In a pan over medium high heat, saute onions till translucent, add sambal chilli, mince beef and green chilli. Quick stir fry till cook, estimated 4mins
  6. Mix cheese with cooked beef mixture and chilli sauce mixture. Mix well.
  7. Toss in shredded lettuce and scrambled eggs and carefully stir well
  8. Stuff the filling into the hollow baguette.
  9. Brush the baguette with melted butter and toast whole baguette in the oven for 3mins at 180°C until the exterior is crispy
